Q: You mentioned his faults. Where are there holes in McLuhan’s thinking? Where do you think his critics and detractors have just cause? A: It’s a very difficult question. I mean, part of the problem is that the really important, positive, useful parts of his ideas have not been fully examined yet. There’s something very strange, almost pernicious afoot, in that most of his books are not presently available. They’re out of print. Why is that? Now we’re hoping to remedy that soon, but nevertheless, that’s the present state of affairs.
